The PIC bursary program aims to identify learners with academic potential who require financial assistance, especially those who demonstrate innovative business potential.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the PIC bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen.
- Intend to enroll or already be enrolled in their first undergraduate qualification at a South African public accredited institution.
- Meet the minimum academic requirements:
- Matriculants must have at least 60% in each subject.
- Tertiary students must have at least 60% in each module and maintain an overall average of 60%.
- Applicants living with disabilities will be given preference.
How to Apply for the PIC bursary
Follow these steps to apply for the PIC bursary:
- Download and complete the PIC Bursary Application Form.
- Ensure all compulsory fields are completed.
- Attach certified copies of all required supporting documents (not older than 3 months).
- Submit your application via email to bursaryapplications@pic.gov.za.
Applicants must submit the following:
- Completed application form
- Signed consent form (if a minor)
- Certified copy of a valid South African ID
- Proof of disability (if applicable)
- Matric certificate (or Grade 11 and June results if currently in Grade 12)
- Academic transcripts (if currently enrolled in tertiary education)
- Preliminary acceptance letter from an accredited tertiary institution
- Quotation for tuition, books, accommodation, and meals
- Proof of household income and dependents:
- Salary/wage slips or affidavit if unemployed
- Death certificate (if parents are deceased)
- SASSA letter for grant recipients
- Affidavit stating annual income if self-employed
- Divorce order/affidavit confirming child support
