About the Bursary Provider

Bushbuckridge is the biggest local government area in Mpumalanga, both in the number of people living there and the size of the land. 

It got its name from the many bushbuck animals found there. 

It’s an important part of the Ehlanzeni District, and it’s located in the northeast of Mpumalanga, touching the southeast of Limpopo. 

It shares borders with other towns and even includes a section of the famous Kruger National Park.

Bushbuckridge Local Municipality Bursary Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. Be a South African citizen
2. Be under 35 years old
3. Reside within the Bushbuckridge Local Municipality area, Mpumalanga
4. Be currently in Matric (in 2023) or have completed Matric
5. Be studying or intending to study towards one of the eligible qualifications in 2024
6. Be enrolled or intend to enroll at an accredited higher education institution in South Africa
7. Be from a disadvantaged and indigent family
8. Be in financial need

How to Apply

1. Collect the bursary application form from the Bushbuckridge Local Municipality offices (R533 Graskop Road, Opposite Mapulaneng Driving Licensing Testing Centre, Bushbuckridge) or the nearest municipal regional office.
2. Complete the application form and attach the required supporting documents:
   • Certified copy of ID document or birth certificate
   • Certified copy of Matric certificate/statement
   • Proof of indigent status or proof of household income (latest payslips if employed, affidavit if unemployed, pension receipt if receiving pension, death certificate if deceased, letter from a social worker if orphaned)
   • Proof of residence
3. Submit the completed application form and supporting documents to the Bushbuckridge Local Municipality or the nearest municipal regional office.
