The Cape Agulhas Municipality is the southernmost municipality in Africa, located in the Overberg District of the Western Cape.

It covers towns such as Napier, Bredasdorp, Suiderstrand, L’Agulhas, Struisbaai, Arniston, Elim, Klipdale, and Protem, spanning over 2,400 km².

The municipality’s administrative headquarters is based in Bredasdorp.

To be considered for the Cape Agulhas Municipality Bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Must be a South African citizen.
Must reside in the Cape Agulhas Municipal area (Western Cape).
Must have completed Matric.
Must be studying or intend to study towards a qualification in one of the specified fields in 2025.
Must be registered or accepted at a recognised and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa.
Must demonstrate financial need.
Household income must not exceed R20 000 per month.
The bursary cannot be used to settle existing loans or debts.

December 2023 and September 2024 results
Latest academic progress report (if currently studying)
Proof of application/admission from your tertiary institution (including study duration, course scope, tuition costs, and banking details)
Motivational letter
Parents or guardians’ ID documents
Proof of parents or guardians’ income (latest payslips if employed, affidavit if unemployed, proof of grant/pension if applicable)
Proof of residence in the Cape Agulhas municipal area (municipal account or account statement)
