About the Bursary Provider
The Cape Winelands District Municipality (CWDM) is situated in the Boland region of the Western Cape province.
Formerly known as the Boland District Municipality, CWDM spans over 20,000 square kilometers, positioned between the coastal regions of Overberg and the West Coast, next to the Cape Metropolitan area.
The district includes five local municipalities: Stellenbosch, Witzenberg, Langeberg, Drakenstein, and the Breede Valley, with major towns such as Stellenbosch, Worcester, Wellington, and Paarl.
Cape Winelands District Municipality Mayoral Bursary Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria to qualify for the bursary:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must have completed Matric or be currently in Matric
- Must be studying or planning to study towards a Degree/ National Diploma/ National Certificate in one of the eligible fields
- Must demonstrate financial need
- Must excel academically
- Must permanently reside within the Cape Winelands District Municipality (Breede Valley, Drakenstein, Langeberg, Stellenbosch, and Witzenberg)

Please note that the Cape Winelands District Municipality’s Bursary Program has been discontinued after 2018 and will no longer be awarding bursaries.
