About the Bursary Provider
The Chris Hani Development Agency (CHDA), in collaboration with the Chris Hani District Municipality (CHDM) Executive Mayor’s Office, established the Community Skills Bursary Fund in 2013/14.
This initiative aimed to support young people from the Chris Hani region who had completed Grade 12 and wished to pursue tertiary education.
The bursary program was launched with an initial R2 million investment, funding the first intake of 24 learners.
Over the years, it has successfully supported students in various fields, including engineering, tourism, finance, and mining.
In April 2017, the CHDA secured 15 bursaries with the Construction Seta (CETA) for Civil Engineering students, along with 13 bursaries from the MICT Seta for ICT-related studies.
