Bursary Name: DRDAR Bursary 2025

Funding Amount: Covers registration fees, tuition fees, prescribed textbooks, accommodation, and meals. The bursary does not cover outstanding student debt.

About the Bursary Provider
The Eastern Cape Department of Rural Development and Agrarian Reform (DRDAR) is a government entity that aims to promote sustainable rural development and agricultural growth in the Eastern Cape.
Its mission is to support rural communities through food security initiatives, access to economic opportunities, and smallholder farmer support.
DRDAR also works with local stakeholders to drive land reform, improve livelihoods, and contribute to socio-economic transformation in the province.
DRDAR Bursary Eligibility Requirements
You must meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen.
- Be unemployed.
- Have completed Grade 12/ Matric/ NCV with Mathematics and Physical Science.
- Be studying or intending to study a degree in Agricultural Engineering or Bio-Resource Engineering.
- Be registered or accepted at a recognized tertiary institution in South Africa.
- Have a total household income of NOT more than R350,000 per annum (or R600,000 if living with a disability).
- Youth with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
- Preference is given to unemployed youth from designated groups residing in the Eastern Cape (but students from other provinces are also welcome to apply).

- Prepare the Required Documents: Ensure all documents are clear and certified where necessary:
- Certified copy of ID document.
- Matric latest results or Matric certificate (certified copy).
- Full academic record (if currently studying).
- Proof of admission/provisional admission/registration from a registered Higher Education Institution.
- Proof of residence from the local municipality (less than 3 months old).
- Certified copies of parents’ or guardians’ ID documents.
- Proof of household income (latest payslips if employed, affidavit if unemployed, proof of pension/grant if applicable).
- Details of any other bursary or sponsorship received (if applicable).
- Submit Your Application: Email all required documents to bursary@drdar.gov.za with the subject “DRDAR Bursary 2025.”
