About the Bursary Provider
The Eastern Cape province is South Africa’s second-largest, rich in culture and heritage, with its government offices in Bhisho.
The Eastern Cape Office of the Premier (ECOTP) is committed to developing skilled youth through the bursary program, in partnership with MerSETA.
MerSETA is one of the country’s 21 SETAs and focuses on advancing skills in Engineering, Manufacturing, and related services as per the Skills Development Act.
ECOTP Bursary Eligibility Requirements
Make sure that you meet the following criteria:
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Must reside within the Eastern Cape province.
- Must be between 18 and 35 years old.
- Must be studying towards a Degree or Diploma in one of the listed fields.
- Must be enrolled at a recognised and accredited South African University or University of Technology.
- Must be unemployed.
- Must be willing to work within the relevant service sectors.
- Must NOT be receiving any other government funding.
- Preference will be given to students from previously disadvantaged backgrounds.
How to Apply
Eligible students must submit the following supporting documents via email.
No application form is required:
- Certified copy of ID document.
- Certified copy of Matric certificate or equivalent.
- Latest academic record.
- Proof of registration at a South African University/University of Technology.
- Proof of any other financial assistance received.
