About the Bursary Provider
The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) was established to support the equitable growth of South Africa’s film and video industry.
It provides funding for film development, production, marketing, and distribution.
Also, the NFVF offers training and development opportunities for filmmakers and conducts industry research to provide valuable insights into the sector.
This bursary program aims to equip South African film and television professionals with global skills through postgraduate studies abroad, in courses not available locally.
NFVF International Bursary Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the NFVF International Bursary 2025, applicants must:
- Apply at least six months before their course starts.
- Be a South African citizen or permanent resident.
- Have a strong academic record.
- Demonstrate financial need.
- Be enrolled in a full-time postgraduate film or television program at an accredited overseas tertiary institution.
- Ensure the selected course is not available in South Africa.
- Note that Live Performance or Acting courses do not qualify.
Applicants must submit a detailed motivation letter explaining why they should be awarded the bursary, along with all required supporting documents as indicated in the online application form.
