About the Bursary Provider
The Western Cape Provincial Treasury is dedicated to providing financial aid to students in key fields to help address skills shortages in the province.
Since the programme’s launch in 2008, it has enabled many students to obtain tertiary qualifications and enter careers in finance, economics, and related fields.
Eligibility Requirements for the bursary
To qualify for the bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen residing in the Western Cape
- Be between 17 and 35 years old
- Have achieved an average of 65% or higher in the previous academic year (high school or university)
- Not be receiving any other bursaries or state funding
- Postgraduate applicants must have already obtained a relevant Bachelor’s degree in one of the eligible fields
- People with disabilities are encouraged to apply
