About the Bursary Provider
Ratlou is a town area in the North West province of South Africa, part of the Ngaka Modiri Molema District.
It used to be called Setla-Kgobi. Made up of about 26 villages and farms, it’s next to Botswana and other towns.
The main towns are Disaneng, Kraaipan, Madibogo, and Setlagole, and people there mainly work in farming, mining, and tourism.
Ratlou Local Municipality Bursary Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria to qualify:
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Must reside within the Ratlou Local Municipality in the North West Province.
- Must have completed Matric.
- Must be studying or intending to study towards a qualification in one of the listed fields.
- Must be pursuing a three-year tertiary qualification, either full-time or part-time.
- Must be attending or planning to attend a tertiary institution registered with SAQA or an accredited higher education institution in South Africa.
- Must have a strong academic record.
- Must come from an indigent family with a total household income not exceeding R3,500 per month.
- Must not be receiving any other conditional bursary funding unless approved by the municipality.

- Recent passport-sized photograph.
- Certified copy of your ID document.
- Certified copy of your Matric certificate, NTC3, or equivalent examination results.
- Certified copy of your most recent academic record (if currently studying).
- Proof of acceptance or provisional admission at a registered tertiary institution.
- Certified copies of parents’ or guardians’ ID documents.
- Proof of parents’ or guardians’ income (latest payslips, employer letter, affidavit if unemployed, financial statements if self-employed, or death certificates if deceased).
- Proof of residence (letter from the tribal authority, confirmation letter from the municipality, or title deed).
- Testimonial from a school, employer, or a person of authority.
