About the Bursary Provider

The Saldanha Bay Municipality is located on South Africa’s West Coast and forms part of the West Coast District Municipality. 

Spanning over 2,000 square kilometers with a 230-kilometer coastline, it is home to Africa’s largest natural port. 

The municipality’s headquarters is in Vredenburg, with satellite offices in Paternoster, Langebaan, St Helena Bay, Hopefield, and Saldanha.

Saldanha Bay Municipality Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the Saldanha Bay Municipality Bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. Be between 18 and 35 years old.
2. You, your parents, or guardians must reside within the Saldanha Bay Municipal Area.
3. Intend to study full-time towards an undergraduate degree or national diploma in one of the eligible fields in 2023.
4. Have been accepted to study at a recognized and accredited South African tertiary institution (University, University of Technology, or TVET Institution).
5. Must not be receiving bursary funding from another institution or organization.
6. Preference will be given to applicants from historically disadvantaged groups or those with disabilities.

How to Apply

2. Prepare the following supporting documents (compulsory for application submission):
   • Certified copy of your ID document.
   • Certified copy of your latest Matric results (if currently in Matric) or Matric certificate (if completed Matric).
   • Proof of acceptance from an accredited institution (on official letterhead).
   • Fee structure document (quotation, account statement, or invoice from the institution).
   • Proof of income from parents/guardians (pay slip or three months’ bank statement; if unemployed, provide an affidavit or proof of social grant).
   • Proof of residence within the Saldanha Bay Municipal Area (parent/guardian or own name).
   • Motivational letter (maximum 1,000 words) on:
