About the Bursary Provider
The SIOC Community Development Trust (SIOC-CDT) aims to support the youth from its beneficiary communities (Gamagara, Ga-Segonyana, Joe Morolong, Tsantsabane, and Thabazimbi) in achieving an economically sustainable future.
The bursary is targeted at students who require financial assistance to pursue under or postgraduate studies.
SIOC-CDT Bursary Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the SIOC-CDT Bursary, applicants must:
- Be residing in and/or originate from SIOC-CDT beneficiary communities.
- Be 35 years old or younger by the closing date of the application.
- Be accepted/provisionally accepted at a Public Higher Education Institution for the 2025 academic year.
- Demonstrate financial need to fund their studies, with preference given to undergraduate students.
- Have a combined household annual income not exceeding R600,000.
- People with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
How to Apply
You must submit the following supporting documents:
- Certified copy of South African ID.
- Latest academic results (Grade 12 June/Prelims, university 1st-semester results, or transcript for continuing students).
- Certified copy of final NSC result (if completed before 2024).
- Proof of acceptance/provisional acceptance or application at a recognized higher public education institution (University/TVET/FET College).
- Proof of residence (not older than 3 months).
- Proof of income of Parent/Guardian (recent payslip), certified declaration of unemployment, an affidavit confirming orphan status, or SASSA Grant recipient certificate.
- Medical certificate confirming the type of disability (if applicable).
- Recent 3-month bank statement reflecting income.
