About the Bursary Provider
The Steve Tshwete Local Municipality (formerly Middelburg Municipality) is part of the Nkangala District Municipality in Mpumalanga.
Named after Steve Tshwete, an ANC activist who was imprisoned on Robben Island from 1964 to 1983, the municipality offers bursaries to deserving students from the community to support their educational goals.
Steve Tshwete Local Municipality Bursary Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for this bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be between 18 and 35 years old
- Reside within the Steve Tshwete Local Municipality (MP313), Mpumalanga
- Be currently in Matric or have completed Matric
- Be studying or intending to study an undergraduate qualification in one of the specified fields (full-time or distance learning)
- Have applied for and been admitted to a public tertiary institution in South Africa (University or TVET College)
- Have a combined gross household income of NOT more than R350,000 per annum
- Not be a recipient of any other bursary or loan
- Students living with disabilities and those from previously disadvantaged backgrounds are encouraged to apply
