About the Bursary Provider
The Ingquza Hill Local Municipality (formerly known as Qaukeni Municipality) is one of five local municipalities within the OR Tambo District Municipality in the Eastern Cape.
The municipality faces challenges such as poverty, underdevelopment, and infrastructure backlogs.
To address these issues, the municipality aims to uplift its residents by providing financial support for higher education and ensuring access to quality education and community development.
Ingquza Hill Local Municipality Bursary Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria before applying:
- Must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years old.
- Must reside within the Ingquza Hill Local Municipality, Eastern Cape.
- Must have completed Matric.
- Must be studying or intend to study an undergraduate qualification in one of the specified fields in 2025.
- Must be studying or accepted to study at a recognized and accredited university in South Africa.
- Must meet the academic requirements of the chosen tertiary institution.
- Must be in financial need, with a household income not exceeding R350,000 per annum.
How to Apply
There is no official application form for this bursary. Eligible students must submit the following documents via post:
- Application letter (signed and marked for the attention of the Municipal Manager, stamped by the respective Ward Councillor).
- Certified copy of Matric certificate.
- Proof of application/ acceptance/ provisional acceptance from an accredited institution.
- Quotation of the university’s fee structure (including accommodation and prescribed textbook costs).
- Certified proof of household income (latest payslips if employed, affidavit if unemployed, proof of SASSA grant if applicable).
- Proof of residence.
