About the Bursary Provider
The Eastern Cape Department of Transport is responsible for developing and maintaining transport infrastructure, operations, and regulation in the province.
It operates through five key programs: administration, transport infrastructure, transport operations, community development, and transport regulation.
Also, ECDOT oversees two entities: Mayibuye Transport Corporation (MTC) and The Government Fleet Trading Entity, ensuring reliable public transport and efficient fleet management.
Eligibility Requirements for the ECDOT Bursary
To qualify for this bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen
- Reside within the Eastern Cape province
- Be 35 years old or younger
- Have completed Matric/Grade 12/equivalent
- Be interested in studying towards a Traffic Officer Diploma (NQF Level 4)
- Hold a valid Code-B driver’s license (manual transmission)
- Be unemployed
- Be medically fit and provide a medical certificate
- Have no criminal record
- Be willing to enter into a one-year bursary contract with the department
- Be committed to the full duration of the program
