About the Bursary Provider
The KwaZulu-Natal Government consists of various departments that provide bursary funding to students residing in the province.
The bursary is aimed at supporting students pursuing careers that align with the province’s development goals.
Successful candidates will be required to enter into a bursary contract and serve the relevant department for an equal duration of the funding period.
Eligibility Requirements for the KwaZulu-Natal Government Bursaries
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be between 18 and 35 years old
- Reside within KwaZulu-Natal province
- Have completed Matric
- Be studying or intending to study full-time towards an undergraduate qualification in one of the specified fields in 2025
- Be studying or provisionally accepted at a recognized public tertiary institution in South Africa
- Preference will be given to students studying within KwaZulu-Natal
- Youth with disabilities are encouraged to apply
How to Apply
When applying, you must submit a completed application form along with the following supporting documents (certified copies where required):
- ID document
- Matric certificate
- Most recent academic results (if currently studying)
- Proof of registration or acceptance/provisional acceptance at a public institution
- Parents or guardians’ ID documents or death certificates (if applicable)
- Parents or guardians’ proof of income (latest payslips, proof of unemployment, pension, or grant)
- Proof of residence in KwaZulu-Natal (from a ward councillor)
- Profiling certificate (if applicable)
