The Oudtshoorn Municipality governs the Greater Oudtshoorn area in the Little Karoo region of the Western Cape Province.

Located at the foot of the Swartberg Mountains, this semi-desert area was once home to the indigenous Koi-San people.

The municipality shares borders with the George, Hessequa, Mossel Bay, and Prince Albert municipalities.

Oudtshoorn’s economy is primarily driven by agriculture, forestry, fishing, manufacturing, finance, insurance, and construction.

Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:

Must reside within the Greater Oudtshoorn Municipality, including rural areas (Western Cape).
Must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric.
Must be studying or intending to study full-time towards a Graduate Degree or Diploma in 2025.
Must be registered or intending to register at an accredited tertiary institution in South Africa.
Must have a strong academic record.
Students from previously disadvantaged groups and those with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

Prepare the required documents (certified copies where applicable):
- South African ID document
- Latest Matric results (if currently in Matric)
- Matric certificate (if completed Matric)
- Full tertiary academic record (if currently studying, on institution’s letterhead)
- Proof of registration or admission at a tertiary institution (on the institution’s letterhead)
- Proof of residential address
- Parents’ or guardians’ proof of household income (latest payslips or affidavit if unemployed)
